UM GUIA DE LEITURA: A CONCEPÇÃO DE CIÊNCIAS SOCIAIS E HISTÓRIA DO JURISTA PEDRO LESSA

Abstract

In this article we will work with a textual fabric formed by the Introduction and by the first three chapters of the Study of Philosophy of Law. Starting from two propositions of Pedro Lessa: that history is not a science and that Henry Thomas Buckle's conception of Brazil is erroneous, we question whether there is a connection between them, and we question what they communicate in a text of Introduction to the work of Buckle. However, to answer these questions, it was necessary, firstly, to analyze what Pedro Lessa understands by Social Sciences and scientific method.
