Abstract

The recombinant rS1 / 9 analogue of Nephila Chavipes spider silk protein spidroin 1, as well as the biomaterial has several applications, such as: Tissue and graft implants, being a functional substitute for lesions. This study was able to review the use of recombinant rS1 / 9 glycoprotein in the literature, evaluating its possible applications. Scaffolding is the most promising analog for tissue regeneration, as it contains pores with applicability in cell integration. The analog presents the properties and capacities of natural silk, showing great potential to be applied in vivo through the studies. However, research is needed to evaluate its long-term use and other functionality.
