Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate whether there is a difference in the quantification of accumulated litter and the carbon stock on the edge and in the interior of a semideciduous seasonal forest in the municipality of Ipameri-Goiás, at the State University of Goiás, which is a transition from Cerradão to Floresta Semideciduous Seasonal. As of October 2018, monthly collections of litter began with wooden leaf litter collectors and fine mesh shade, measuring 1x1m, fixed one meter above the ground. The collected material was separated into: leaves, branches and miscellaneous. Data were submitted to regression analysis. The largest litter deposition occurred in March 2019, 2,234.72 Kg.ha-¹ and the smallest, 867.04 Kg.ha-¹ in November 2018. Litter accumulation and carbon stock increase as distance from the edge to the interior of the vegetation area in the evaluated period.
