Abstract

Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) is a medicinal and aromatic plant, widely cultivated in Brazil. The general objective of this study was to analyze the vegetative growth and reproductive development of basil plants as a function of cultivation in soils with different types of uses. The experimental design was completely randomized, with six soil sources and five replications, each replication being a 5 L plastic pot. quantified vegetative and reproductive variables, it was concluded that soils with the characteristics of Ipameri 1, Ipameri 2 and Orizona 3 are the most appropriate for this crop in the southeastern region of the State of Goiás, as they provide plants with better vegetative and reproductive development.
