Abstract

The Pyroligneous Extract (EP) shows promising results as a stimulant and regulator of plant growth, with emphasis on the early stages of development. The objective was to evaluate the initial performance of soybean seedlings, under laboratory conditions and field emergence, promoted using EP. The treatments consisted of the control (T0) without addition of EP, T1: 1.5 ml of EP, T2: 3.0 ml of EP, T3: 4.5 ml of EP and T4: 6 ml of EP. TPG (sand germination test), PCG (first germination count test), IVE (emergence velocity index) and MS (seed dry mass determination) tests were carried out in the laboratory, and EC (field emergency). The pyroligneous extract showed higher mean values for PCG, IVE and TPG, but they were not statistically significant, requiring further studies with different products and new doses.
