Abstract

The Eucalyptus has many species that product wood, cellulose, coal etc. The many of these species still little cultivated in the Cerrado. It aimed to evaluate the initial development of rainbow eucalyptus under NPK fertilization. The experimental design was randomized, in a factorial scheme: three treatments (NPK); five nutrient dosages; six evaluation times; and seven replications. The diameter and height of the plants were evaluated every 15 days, for three months. The height and stem diameter were significant for all nutrients, higher for N and P, all linear increasing in time, and for doses, linear increasing for K, quadratic for N and P, with ideal doses estimated at 525,7 mg. dm-3 and 628,4 mg. dm-3, respectively. For the diameter, related to the doses, only P and K were significant and linearly increasing. Due to of the high levels of nutrients required by the species, we conclude that it is demanding on nutrition.
