Abstract

The agricultural industry has been seeking to develop its activities more sustainably in order to mitigate the environmental impacts of this increasingly competitive sector. In this matter, the use of diazotrophic and plant growth-promoting microorganisms is a feasible alternative. With this research, we aimed to assess the efficiency of applying effective microorganisms and Azospirillum brasilense in corn growth and yield. The experiment was conducted in field conditions, with an experimental design of randomized blocks with three treatments and four replicates. Treatments consisted of control, seeds microbiolized with Azospirillum brasilense, and seeds microbiolized with effective microorganisms. The use of effective microorganisms showed an expressive effect in corn initial growth, positively influencing fresh and dry matter mass, root length and plant height. However, there was no effect on corn yield, which was influenced by the use of Azospirillum brasilense.
